Artemis 1 Is On the Launchpad

NASA”s latest effort to send humans to the Moon is now a step closer to reality.

Space Launch System’s Artemis 1 megarocket has rolled out from the VAB and made the short but time-consuming trip to launch pad 39b at Kennedy Space Center.

The uncrewed mission plans to launch on August 29th but has a series of possible launch windows into the month of September should the August 29 date have any complications.

Artemis 1 will have no human astronauts on board but will have “Moonikin” passengers that will be conducting a series of tests to help NASA understand what a funture human crew will endure on future missions. The tests will include vibrations, radiation exposure, biologicat testing, accelerations and the new space suits that will be worn on future missions.

The rocket will also house and deploy CubeSats that will conduct other experiments.
