Scientists who believe that a meteorite from beyond our solar system crashed into the ocean on Earth in 2014 say they have a plan to raise it from the deep.
The meteorite was tracked as it approached and crashed into the ocean near Papua New Guinea at a speed that suggests that it travled from beyond our solar system before arriving on Earth.
Astronomers from Harvard and Cornell believe that the high denisty strength of the meteorite would suggest a high level of iron and the would mean that a magnet could raise it from the ocean floor.
If scientists can retrieve and study the meteroite, it would be the first time an object from beyond our solar system would be studied up close on Earth.
